Tesla is developing a new compact electric SUV priced below the $36,990 Model 3 and measuring 168 inches (4.3 meters) long—shorter than the Model 3 (185.8 inches) and Model Y (188.7 inches)—according to Reuters citing four anonymous supplier sources. The all-new design awaits CEO Elon Musk's production approval and may launch first in China before expanding to U.S. and German factories, signaling a pivot back to core vehicles after a focus on robotaxis and humanoid robots.
Chile's National Automotive Association (ANAC) reported that 5,411 electrified vehicles were sold in May, an increase of nearly 90% from the same month in 2025. In the first five months of the year, 24,213 units were registered, equivalent to 68% of total 2025 sales.

The Clúster de la Industria de Automoción de Catalunya (CIAC) has announced its intention to go on the offensive to establish the region as an electromobility hub in southern Europe.
Twelve automotive companies from Aguascalientes will participate in a training program in Japan from February 1 to 16, aiming to boost their competitiveness and position the state as a leader in electromobility in Mexico. Governor Tere Jiménez announced the initiative, supported by Japan's International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
