IO Interactive has announced a two-month delay for its upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light, shifting the release from March to May 2026. The Danish developer cited the need for additional polish to ensure high quality. The game, described as the studio's most ambitious project, remains fully playable and is set to launch on multiple platforms.
IO Interactive says it is really happy that recent previews of 007: First Light are making clear the James Bond game is not like its Hitman series. The studio wants players to understand the differences ahead of the May 27 release.

IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak stated that AAA single-player games can be developed for roughly half the budgets commonly reported in the industry. He highlighted the studio's efficient approach with its engine and talent to control costs on ambitious projects like 007 First Light.
