This comes amid rampant online scams in Indonesia causing losses up to Rp9.1 trillion. Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria supports the effort as part of a cybercrime industry costing the country Rp8.4 trillion.

South Korea and 43 other countries called on Monday for 'urgent' and 'coordinated' actions to address technology-facilitated human trafficking cases, including those linked to online scams, saying they have worsened global human rights and humanitarian challenges.
