China ready to help restore peace and stability in Middle East, Wang says

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that China is ready to help create conditions for peace talks and play a greater role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East. He made the remarks during talks in Beijing with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, whose visit followed attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran on Feb 28.

Seoul shares opened sharply higher on hopes for a second round of U.S.-Iran peace talks, tracking overnight Wall Street gains. The KOSPI added 175.80 points, or 2.95%, to 6,143.55 in the first 15 minutes of trading. It had risen 2.74% to close at 5,967.75 on Tuesday.
