Led by Raghav Chadha, seven of Aam Aadmi Party's 10 Rajya Sabha MPs announced on Friday they are merging with the Bharatiya Janata Party. They invoked the two-thirds merger provision under the anti-defection law to avoid disqualification. AAP has demanded their disqualification from the Upper House.
Seven Rajya Sabha MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have defected to the BJP. Parliament attendance records show Swati Maliwal as the most regular among them, while cricketer Harbhajan Singh had the lowest attendance. Raghav Chadha, a former aide to Arvind Kejriwal, triggered the mutiny in AAP on Friday.
