The conservative group Club for Growth began running ads on January 12, 2026, urging Mississippi lawmakers to pass House Bill 2, the “Mississippi Education Freedom Act,” a wide-ranging education proposal introduced January 7 by House Speaker Jason White and Rep. This represents a one percentage point increase from last year, and overall 95 percent get one of their preferred schools. Nearly all guardians made an active choice in the school selection process.
