Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Monday administered the oath of enlistment to more than 100 National Guard members near the Washington Monument, according to The Daily Wire, as the Trump administration’s “D.C. The deployment began after President Donald Trump’s Aug. 11, 2025, emergency action in the capital, and has been extended through at least Feb. 28, 2026, according to the Associated Press.
