Addis Ababa directs 48 agencies to end paper procurement

The Addis Ababa City Administration has ordered its 48 largest-spending agencies to stop paper-based buying. The move targets major entities including the Revenue Bureau and the Housing Development Corporation.

The directive applies to agencies such as the Revenue Bureau, the Housing Development Corporation, and district administrations including Qirkos and Lideta.

Addis Ababa maintains a network of 217 public administrative structures, 87 sectoral bureaus, 11 district administrations, and 119 woredas.

The integration of these 48 agencies forms the first phase of a plan to shift all public procurement in the capital to the eGP platform over five years.
