Apple has pushed back the launch of its rumored AI-powered smart glasses to late 2027 due to development challenges. The devices were previously expected to be announced later this year with shipments starting in early 2027.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said in his Power On newsletter that the company has encountered bumps in the project. The glasses remain a top priority for outgoing chief executive Tim Cook, according to people close to him. John Ternus, who is set to succeed Cook in September, has led the development team for the past two years and is described as the driving force behind the effort.
