Arc Raiders 1.3.0 update nerfs Venator pistol and fixes glitches

Embark Studios has released the 1.3.0 update for Arc Raiders, addressing balance issues with powerful weapons and various bugs. The patch tones down the overperforming Venator pistol and tweaks explosions for better gameplay fairness. It also introduces more rubber ducks in player dens and resolves several wall-glitching exploits.

Key Changes to Weapons and Balance

The update primarily targets the Venator, a blue rare pistol that has been dominating close-range combat. According to the patch notes, the fully upgraded Venator was 'capable of outgunning full squads using close range weapons.' Embark has re-tuned its fire-rate upgrades to slow the pacing while preserving damage and accuracy, encouraging more deliberate shooting rather than rapid fire.

Explosions have also been adjusted to reduce their effectiveness against large Arc enemies. The Hullcracker launcher now demands greater accuracy, with explosions dealing less damage to big threats. Ammo costs for the Hullcracker have changed: players can now purchase six rounds for 4,500 Coins, down from 10 rounds for 6,000 Coins previously. These tweaks may impact strategies for taking on bosses like the Arc Queen, potentially leading to more cautious approaches.

Bug Fixes and Exploits

Several performance and collision issues receive attention. On the Blue Gate map, bullet collision problems caused by railing props have been fixed, allowing shots to pass through as intended. Player collision tweaks apply across other maps, improving reliability.

Wall-glitching exploits are addressed in specific areas: the Control Tower in Dam Battlegrounds and a wall in Spaceport can no longer be used to access locked rooms or set up ambushes without keys. However, not all such exploits are covered, and issues like crawling to escape hatches while downed remain unresolved, frustrating some players.

The new Stella Montis map sees spawn location removals near Arc enemies and collision fixes. Arc Shredder enemies now respond to lure grenades, with enhanced navigation for more challenging encounters.

Fun Addition for Collectors

In a lighthearted note, the update expands rubber duck displays in Raider Dens, allowing collections to overflow onto the floor if sufficient ducks are stashed. The patch notes simply state: 'Your Raider Den has been ducked out.' This responds to community requests for better showcasing of the cosmetic items.
