The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) hosted an invite-only ceremony on Tuesday night, May 5, in Miami to reveal the winners of its 2026 Latin Music Awards. The event celebrated top songwriters and publishers behind recent Latin hits, as confirmed on the ASCAP website and first reported by Billboard on May 6, 2026. Colombian songwriter Keityn earned songwriter of the year for the third time, recognized for co-writing tracks like Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís’s “Coleccionando Heridas,” Maluma’s “Cosas Pendientes,” Feid’s “Doblexxó,” and Nicky Jam and Beéle’s “Hiekka.” New York Dominican artist Romeo Santos, self-proclaimed King of Bachata, won songwriter-artist of the year for “Ángel” with Grupo Frontera, “Desde Hoy” performed by Natti Natasha, and “Khé” with Rauw Alejandro. Karol G’s “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” written by ASCAP songwriter Rios, took song of the year. Released last June and published by Capital Music Puerto Rico LLC and Kobalt Music Publishing, the track topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for 14 weeks and recently reached No. 6 after Karol G’s Coachella performance. Daddy Yankee secured his 63rd and 64th ASCAP Latin Awards for “Sonríele” and Karol G’s “Latina Foreva,” extending his record as the most decorated Latin songwriter since 2005. Universal Music Publishing Group was named Latin music publisher of the year for the fourth straight year, representing hits by Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro. Other winners include Julito Gastón for Bad Bunny’s “Baile Inolvidable,” Feid for multiple tracks, Xavi, Natanael Cano, Tito El Bambino, and Danny Ocean.
