WWE star Big E revealed he once pitched a dramatic extension to the New Day heel turn storyline that began on the December 2, 2024 episode of WWE Raw.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Big E described his idea for Kofi Kingston to save a match by landing on the barricade before the pair would remove low hats and cost him the Royal Rumble.
Creative initially responded positively but said the spot could be saved for later. Big E noted he prefers to use strong ideas immediately rather than delay them.
The former WWE champion said the follow-up to the turn ultimately did not meet expectations, though he remains proud of the initial angle. He added that his current role as a broadcaster for premium live events limits further involvement.
Big E has not returned to the ring since suffering a career-ending neck injury in March 2022 and described recovery attempts as a gamble not worth taking.
