Black Bananas sign with Fire Records for new album

Black Bananas have signed with Fire Records and will release their first album in over a decade later this year. The trio announced the deal on June 2. Their new record, titled Bad Bunch, marks a return after Electric Brick Wall in 2014.

Black Bananas, led by Jennifer Herrema, signed with the label on June 2. The group will deliver Bad Bunch on an undisclosed date in 2026. The band’s last album came out on Drag City in 2014. Since then members have performed at festivals such as Freakout, Format, and Unhinged, and posted jam sessions online. Herrema has pursued solo work, including a contribution to the Avalanches’ 2016 album Wildflower. The band also started a radio show on NQRA last year.
