Black Bear to sell 'The Beekeeper 2' in select markets

Black Bear has taken on international sales for Jason Statham's action sequel 'The Beekeeper 2' in Asia and MENA regions ahead of the American Film Market. The film is currently in production in London, directed by Timo Tjahjanto. Amazon/MGM will handle distribution in other territories, including North America.

Filming for 'The Beekeeper 2' is underway in London, with Jason Statham reprising his lead role alongside a strong ensemble cast including Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland. The sequel is directed by Timo Tjahjanto and written by Kurt Wimmer, who also serves as a producer. Miramax is financing and producing the project, with additional producers Jason Statham through Punch Palace Productions, Chris Long via Long Shot Productions, and Kurt Wimmer. Black Bear will manage sales in Asia and the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) markets, pitching to buyers at the American Film Market (AFM) in Los Angeles this month. Amazon/MGM, which revealed the project earlier this year, is set to distribute the film in all other international territories and handle North American release. This follows their recent collaboration with Statham and Black Bear on 'A Working Man.'
