Bob Dylan brings Jad Tariq into touring band

Bob Dylan added Memphis-based guitarist Jad Tariq to his band for the July 10 concert in Cincinnati. Tariq stepped in for Julian Lage at the PNC Pavilion show.

The change marks the latest in a series of guitarist shifts for Dylan. Lage had replaced Doug Lancio earlier and missed the Cincinnati date due to prior commitments in Europe. Joel Paterson, who joined after Bob Britt departed in late June, had covered some recent shows alone.

Tariq became the 36th guitarist to perform with Dylan. It remains unclear whether the addition is permanent or temporary. Dylan is scheduled to start a European tour in October, while Lage has North American dates booked during the same period.

The band's set list has stayed consistent in recent weeks, featuring the same 15 songs at each show. Dylan was next set to perform Sunday night at Pittsburgh's Stage AE.
