BTS drops '2.0' music video inspired by Oldboy

BTS has released a new music video for their song '2.0,' drawing inspiration from the 2003 South Korean film Oldboy. The septet showcases choreography in gritty settings reminiscent of the movie. This follows their recent No. 1 debut with the album and single 'SWIM.'

BTS unveiled the music video for '2.0,' the second ARIRANG track in two weeks, on April 1. After a four-year hiatus, the group returned with visuals inspired by Park Chan-wook's Oldboy. The video opens with RM, Jung Kook, V, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and Jin stepping out of an elevator in sharp suits and leather jackets, facing thugs in a dark corridor. Instead of the film's hammer fight, they fend off opponents with synchronized dance moves and music. The scene shifts to another hallway for continued choreography, then a grimy bathroom where they perform the chorus before mirrors. The band returns to the elevator, switches to modern outfits echoing the lyrics 'We on that brand new,' and concludes in a high-rise building. BTS teased the video with a 30-second preview on March 31. The release comes shortly after their album and lead single 'SWIM' topped the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts.
