The Anti-Corruption Commission of the Nuevo León Congress approved starting a political trial against Governor Samuel García for alleged public fund triangulation.
The session took place on Friday following the request filed by Morena on June 8. The measure stems from a May complaint alleging the diversion of more than one billion pesos to the firm of the governor's relatives.
The PAN highlighted the absence of Morena deputies Mario Soto Esquer and Rodrigo Montemayor Romero, as well as Claudia Chapa Marmolejo of the PVEM. Present were deputy Grecia Benavides and state leader Anabel Alcocer.
Samuel García has 15 business days to respond and may appear in writing or in person. The governor rejected the accusations and stated that the state prosecutor's office had already issued a resolution of no criminal action.
