Dr. Richard Nyong, Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens Group, has solidified his reputation as a key figure in Nigeria's private sector with his latest accolade. On December 12, 2025, he received the Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FN/NIQS), recognizing his transformative impact on the real estate sector, housing delivery, employment, and urban development.
This is the fourth such honour in four consecutive years. Previously, in 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari conferred the OON upon him. He also earned an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Port Harcourt and a Chieftaincy Title from the Oba of Epe. These awards highlight Nyong's consistent contributions to nation-building through enterprise.
Nyong launched Lekki Gardens in 2012 with a mission to tackle Nigeria's housing shortage under the slogan 'Luxury You Can Afford.' The company has delivered over 20,000 housing units in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, and the Federal Capital Territory. It has more than 25,000 units in development across 60 projects and has generated over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs for artisans, professionals, and others.
