Environment Minister Manal Awad stated the project will bolster oversight in vital areas impacting daily life, including building violations, waste management, and pollution tracking—especially the seasonal "black cloud" phenomenon. It will also monitor encroachments on natural reserves, support the 100 Million Trees initiative, and improve environmental inspections.
The system employs advanced spectral imaging to precisely analyze pollution sources, as part of wider efforts to integrate cutting-edge technologies into government operations.
Mohamed Shehata Youssef, Chairperson of Drone Tech, affirmed the company's full technical support, noting it as the first such project with the ministry. Deployment will occur in phases across Egypt's governorates, prioritized by relevant authorities.
