A family from Nairobi's Dagoretti area has appealed for public help after their 13-year-old daughter disappeared at a popular mall in the Karen area. The girl went missing after leaving home to meet friends at the mall on September 7, 2025. The mall's CCTV footage shows her entering with another girl and a young man, walking around with them before two more young men joined the group.
In the footage, she is seen having a short conversation with the young man she arrived with, after which the others joined. A few minutes later, she walks out of the mall beside the same young man—that was the last time she was seen. The family reported the disappearance to Karen Police Station, but they say there has been no significant progress in the investigation.
The girl's mother pleaded for her return, stating, 'Those young men who took my child should just bring her back, please, because that child is supposed to be in school. I am hurting so much as a parent. I have searched for her, but I haven't made any progress.'
The family has received calls from an unknown person claiming to have rescued their daughter. One man called pretending to be a senior police officer, the OCPD, and tried to convince them to send money so the girl could be brought to Kabete Police Station. 'He called us and said he was the OCPD and we should send money so that the girl could be brought to Kabete Police Station, but it was a lie,' she added. The family continues to seek assistance from the public to find their daughter.
