Square Enix revealed the title and release window for the final chapter of its Final Fantasy 7 Remake project during Summer Game Fest on June 5.
The game is called Final Fantasy 7 Revelation and will launch simultaneously in spring 2027 on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2. Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the project, said the central theme is resolve. The trailer showed Cloud and his companions facing Sephiroth, the Weapons and other threats in large-scale battles. New details include fully playable Vincent Valentine, who can transform into a monster, and an open world that players explore using the Highwind airship with the ability to parachute to any location. The announcement follows the first two entries, Final Fantasy 7 Remake in 2020 and Rebirth in 2024. Both received critical acclaim for their updated combat and storytelling approach.
