Florida woman sentenced to 18 years for DUI manslaughter

Terriny Krepps received the maximum sentence of 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a 2024 drunk driving crash that killed an Uber driver in Escambia County.

Circuit Judge John Simon imposed the sentence on Krepps, 21, for the June 29, 2024, collision at the intersection of Gulf Beach Highway and North Navy Boulevard. She had run a red light in her Hyundai Elantra and struck a Subaru Legacy driven by Kurt Kramer, a retired Navy veteran working as an Uber driver.

Kramer died at the scene. One passenger suffered catastrophic injuries leading to a medical discharge from the Navy, while two others were also hurt. Krepps had a blood-alcohol level of 0.186, more than twice the legal limit, and had an open can of Twisted Tea in her vehicle.

She pleaded guilty last week to DUI manslaughter, DUI causing serious bodily injury, and two misdemeanor counts. The judge ordered 15 years for the manslaughter charge, including a four-year mandatory minimum, plus three consecutive years for the serious injury count, followed by two years of probation.
