Free electronic music party celebrates New Year's in Reforma

The government of Mexico City is organizing a massive free electronic music party on Paseo de la Reforma to welcome 2026, featuring national and international artists starting at 6:00 p.m. on December 31. Over 200,000 attendees are expected at this safe and accessible event. The celebration stands out for its focus on electronic music and pedestrian mobility.

The New Year's electronic music party on Paseo de la Reforma, organized by Mexico City's Secretariat of Culture, turns the avenue into an open-air dance floor on December 31, 2025. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026, with the main stage at the Angel of Independence.

The lineup features artists such as Ramiro Puente at 6:00 p.m., VEL at 7:00 p.m., Jehnny Beth at 8:00 p.m., 3BallMTY at 9:00 p.m., Mariana Bo at 10:00 p.m., Kavinsky at 11:00 p.m., Arca DJ Set at midnight, and MGMT DJ Set at 1:00 a.m. These performers span genres like electro-pop, synthwave, techno, and experimental electronics, including talents from Mexico, the United States, Venezuela, and France.

Government Secretary César Cravioto Romero described the event as 'extraordinary' and better than last year's. Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada Molina highlighted the lack of pilgrimages to improve mobility: 'This year we don't have the romería of Reforma. That's a big difference, because the sections of Reforma were full (…) that hindered people's mobility'.

To ensure safety, a coordinated operation involves the Secretariat of Citizen Security, Civil Protection, and other agencies. Alcohol sales on public streets are prohibited after 10:00 p.m., as are the use of gas tanks or deep fryers, and compliance with establishment hours is monitored. No official live broadcast has been confirmed, but details are available on the Mexico City Events Calendar and official social media.

This event aims to provide an inclusive and vibrant celebration to bid farewell to 2025 and usher in 2026 with good music and lights.
