Linux stable kernel maintainer Greg Kroah-Hartman delivered a keynote on Rust integration during the Open Source Summit India 2026 held in Mumbai in June.
Kroah-Hartman told attendees that the kernel is moving toward Rust.
The talk was titled "Rust and Linux: How the Rust Language is Going to Help Linux Succeed."
He also noted that the language makes coding fun.
