HBO released the full trailer for its upcoming Green Lantern series Lanterns during a San Diego Comic-Con panel. The show stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.
The trailer highlights the pair's training as space cops and their involvement in an Earth-based murder mystery in the American heartland. It also teases questions about Manhunters and expands on John Stewart's apprenticeship.
The cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones. Chris Mundy serves as showrunner, with Damon Lindelof and Tom King among the executive producers alongside James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Lanterns will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, August 16. The official Instagram account promoted the footage with the message to leave fear behind.
