Hong Kong police have arrested nine men aged 18 to 61 as part of a seven-jurisdiction operation that detained more than 300 suspects across Asia. Hong Kong police announced on Monday the arrest of nine men suspected of child pornography offenses as part of a coordinated international operation involving seven jurisdictions.

The effort included Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Brunei, resulting in a total of 326 arrests across Asia, according to Superintendent Ferris Cheung Hau-yee of the force’s cybersecurity and technology crime bureau.

“Through active intelligence exchange and investigation, we discovered individuals downloading or sharing child pornography online,” Cheung said. “Following in-depth investigation and analysis, the police forces of our seven jurisdictions identified the suspects … and arrested a total of 326 individuals.”

She added that the offenses included the production and possession of child pornography. Locally, officers conducted raids on April 14, arresting the nine men aged 18 to 61, who were suspected of possessing child pornography and committing indecent assaults.
