House explodes in Lindavista after gas truck maneuvers, two injured

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, around 12:30 p.m., a fire was reported in a property on Pisco Street, near the intersection with Otavalo, in Lindavista colony, Gustavo A. Madero borough, Mexico City. CDMX Firefighters responded to the incident, which began with an explosion in one of the homes after a gas LP truck performed maneuvers to supply the residence.

The firefighters reported that the fire spread to two homes and was fully controlled by 3:00 p.m. Two people were affected with burns and received care from emergency services. As a preventive measure, the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) evacuated about 35 people from nearby homes. An adjacent house also sustained damage from the incident.

Nearby neighbors heard the explosion, which shook surrounding structures, following the gas supply by the truck driver. Capital authorities stated they will conduct investigations to clarify the facts and assign responsibilities. No further complications were reported, but the event highlights concerns about safety in handling LP gas in densely urban areas.
