Argentine musician Carlos 'Indio' Solari posted a photo on social media playing the guitar, debunking stroke rumors. His family clarified it involves routine checkups for his Parkinson's. The false news was spread by a journalist on Thursday.
Carlos 'Indio' Solari, former leader of Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, reappeared on Friday on his social media with a photo showing him seated playing a guitar, apparently in a studio. This textless post served as a final debunking of rumors that he had suffered a stroke, which circulated on Thursday.
On Thursday, journalist Ángel de Brito announced on social media that Solari had suffered a stroke and was interned in a Buenos Aires sanatorium. The news quickly spread to other media outlets, raising concern among his fans.
However, the musician's entourage denied the information through his official account. 'We want to deny the news that has been irresponsibly spread, regarding the Indio having a stroke. The only truth is that he is undergoing a series of routine checkups, by medical indication, and his health is stable,' they stated.
Solari's wife, Virginia, confirmed in a conversation with journalist Ariel Lijalad that the musician is interned for a checkup related to his long-term health issues. Solari suffers from Parkinson's disease, a condition he made public in 2016, which led him to retire from the stage after his last show in 2017.
The family had previously explained that on Thursday he went to a clinic for routine studies due to Parkinson's.
