Police continue to investigate the suspected attempted murder of two girls in Alvesta in mid-June. Their father was found dead after the attack.
The incident occurred in mid-June outside Alvesta. Two girls were seriously injured after being shot by their father, a man in his 50s. The father was later found dead near the house.
The preliminary investigation is still ongoing. Police will interview all witnesses and conduct all examinations before the case can be closed. Press spokesperson Thomas Johansson says it may take time.
Alvesta municipality has self-reported to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate. The report concerns possible deficiencies in social services handling, as the mother had been in contact with the municipality close to the event.
The girls' health status remains unclear. Region Skåne cites patient confidentiality and provides no new information.
