Jac Schaeffer signs three-year TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios

Jac Schaeffer, known for creating the Marvel series WandaVision, has entered a three-year overall television deal with Amazon MGM Studios. Under the agreement, she will develop, write, executive produce and direct original series for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

Jac Schaeffer, previously under an overall deal with Marvel Studios and 20th Television, has now committed to Amazon MGM Studios for three years. Variety reported the exclusive details on February 11, 2026.

Schaeffer gained prominence as the creator and showrunner of WandaVision, the inaugural Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+. The 2021 production featured Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their film roles as Wanda and Vision. It received 23 Primetime Emmy nominations and wide acclaim for blending sitcom tropes with deeper emotional narratives, becoming one of the year's top-reviewed shows.

Building on that success, Schaeffer developed the spinoff Agatha All Along, starring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness. She served as showrunner, writer, executive producer and director for the series, which garnered three Emmy nominations along with recognition from Golden Globes and Independent Spirit Awards.

Her recent credits include directing the pilot for a Disney+ adaptation of Louis Sachar's novel Holes and contributing to the story of the Marvel film Black Widow. Earlier in her career, Schaeffer penned the screenplay for Disney's Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and the 2019 comedy The Hustle, starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson, a remake of the 1980s film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. In 2009, she wrote, directed and produced the sci-fi romantic comedy TiMER, which saw a recent re-release for streaming.

Schaeffer is represented by Curate, CAA and attorney Erik Hyman.
