Jasa Marga urges sufficient e-toll balance for return trip to Jakarta

PT Jasa Marga is urging road users to ensure sufficient e-toll balances before entering toll roads during the return flow to Jabotabek. Data from the Idulfitri holiday period shows 21,000 vehicles lacked balance at Kalikangkung Toll Gate. The advice aims to prevent queues at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate.

PT Jasa Marga recorded that during the H-10 to H+1 period of the 1447H/2026 Idulfitri holiday, or March 11-22, 2026, 21,000 vehicles had insufficient e-toll balances at Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road. This figure represents 4.9% of the total 442,000 vehicles transacting there, leading to on-site top-ups and long queues. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said, “With low e-toll balances resulting in high top-up activity at toll gates, it causes significant delays and queues at toll gates.” A similar situation could occur at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate during the return flow from Trans Jawa to Jakarta. Thus, Jasa Marga advises road users to prepare a minimum balance of Rp500,000 for Group I vehicles from Semarang to Jakarta, and Rp1,000,000 from Surabaya to Jakarta. Rivan added that balances should be checked regularly and the same e-toll card used for tap-in and tap-out on the closed-system Trans Jawa Toll Road.
