On Sunday (16/11), the Pro Tour STU Rio featured thrilling skate finals. Brazilian João Lucas Alves, known as Xuxu, staged a comeback in the last run to win the men's street title, while Japanese Issei Sakurai dazzled in park with top scores. In women's street, Rayssa Leal celebrated her fifth championship at Praça Duó in Barra da Tijuca.
The Pro Tour STU Rio, held at Praça Duó in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, crowned champions in high-level skate finals on November 16. In men's street, João Lucas Alves “Xuxu” (BRA) led with 68.60 in the first run but scored only 25.07 in the second after a fall, allowing Angelo Caro (PER) to take the lead with 83.23. In his final attempt, Xuxu nailed a perfect line for 83.93 to secure the title. Giovanni Vianna (BRA) rounded out the podium with 64.06. The final results were: João Lucas Alves (83.93), Angelo Caro (83.23), Giovanni Vianna (64.06), Gabryel Aguilar (61.56), Mauro Iglesias (53.84), and Lucas Rabelo (34.90).
In men's park, Issei Sakurai (JAP) raised the bar with 94.08 in the second run and 95.44 in the third, clinching gold with 94.55. Luigi Cini (BRA) took second with 93.16, followed by Tate Carew (USA) with 90.86. Gui Khury (BRA) finished fourth with 88.08, Augusto Akio (BRA) fifth with 84.67, and Pedro Barros (BRA) sixth with 30.00.
In women's street, 17-year-old Rayssa Leal claimed her fifth title with 75.69 in the first run. The event was paused due to rain, with the track dried before resuming. Chloe Covell (AUS) placed second with 70.55 despite falls and tears in the final run, and Keet Oldenbeuving (NED) third with 58.78. Other Brazilians: Gabi Mazetto (55.23), Maria Lúcia (40.50), and Isabelly Ávila (33.83). Rayssa said: “I did everything I wanted, well, almost everything, because I really wanted to nail my last run, which was already the Golden Run.” She also celebrated no longer needing a helmet upon turning 18 in January: “It's the end of a great journey. You've seen me since the fairy days, when I didn't even wear a helmet.”
