Junior de Barranquilla defeated opponents 3-0 in the first leg and held on in the return to secure the Liga BetPlay 2026-I bicampeonato.
With a brace from Luis Fernando Muriel and a goal by Bryan Castrillón, the Barranquilla side won the first leg of the final against Atlético Nacional 3-0. In the second match at Estadio Atanasio Girardot, they withstood pressure to claim their 12th league title in club history. The victory marks the third consecutive championship secured away from home. Junior will also receive a US$3.5 million prize, including contributions from Dimayor and CONMEBOL for the Copa Libertadores. The club, backed by sponsors such as Olímpica and Adidas, now prepares for the Copa Libertadores at the renovated Estadio Metropolitano, set to reach 60,000 capacity by November.
