During an exchange about the Palisades Fire, Bass appeared to stumble over the phrase “fire trucks,” and a clip circulating online was framed by some outlets and social media posts as her having said an expletive. In the video excerpt highlighted by The Daily Wire, the moderator immediately asked, “Was that a mistake?” and Bass then corrected herself.
The slip came as Bass defended her administration’s handling of the Palisades Fire and faced criticism from challengers, including Republican candidate Spencer Pratt, who called her “an incredible liar” during a dispute about details of the wildfire response, according to NBC Los Angeles and FOX 11.
