Katseye will perform at the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The group has received three nominations, including New Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for “Gnarly.” The ceremony airs live at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+ and CBS.
Katseye earned nominations for New Artist of the Year, Best Music Video for their song “Gnarly,” and Breakthrough Pop Artist at this year’s awards. Taylor Swift leads the nominations with eight, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and Sombr follow with seven nods each. The event is produced by Dick Clark Productions, owned by Penske Media Corp., which also owns Rolling Stone. The group recently made their Coachella debut earlier this month as a five-piece, without member Manon Bannerman, who is on hiatus. Their set featured the live premiere of “Pinky Up” with a cameo from Huntr/x, followed by hits like “Mean Girls,” “Touch,” “Game Boy,” “Internet Girl,” “Gabriela,” “My Way,” “M.I.A.,” and “Gnarly.” Hybe and Geffen Records announced Bannerman’s hiatus in February. Ahead of Coachella, she posted on WeVerse: “HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me.” Hybe confirmed to the Korea Herald on April 9 that she would not perform at the festival.
