Forward Lukas Sagranden has signed a one-year contract extension with Östersund for the upcoming Hockeyallsvenskan season. The 21-year-old right-shooter recorded eight goals and 12 points in 49 games last season. Östersund's sportchef Rasmus Aro praised his development and team contributions.
Östersund announced that Lukas Sagranden, a 21-year-old forward from Lions in Strömstad, has agreed to a new one-year deal ahead of the next Hockeyallsvenskan campaign. This marks his second season as a senior player with the club after a debut year where he notched eight goals and 12 points across 49 matches. Sagranden, who developed in Örebro's junior system and appeared in a few SHL games with Timrå, has now committed to building on his progress in Östersund. “We think Lukas had a good start to his senior career with us and developed several parts of his game,” Östersund sportchef Rasmus Aro said on the club's website. “We believe he can get even more out of his speed and help the team win matches. He’s also a great guy who contributes well off the ice.” Sagranden expressed enthusiasm about staying put. “It feels incredibly good to have extended with ÖIK! My girlfriend and I have both loved it here in the city, and I’m very excited to continue taking steps and developing both on and off the ice with the club next season,” he told the team's site. The extension bolsters Östersund's forward lines as they prepare for the new season, with Sagranden providing speed and positive energy both on and off the rink.
