Two young players of Indonesian descent, Luke Vickery and Mitchell Baker, will soon enter the DPR RI hearing process next week as part of naturalization in the John Herdman coaching era.
Special Staff to the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Noor Korompot announced the news via an Instagram post on Saturday June 13 2026. He stated that Luke Vickery and Mitchell Baker are the first wave of naturalization under John Herdman's command.
"Two national team player candidates @luke.vickery_ and @_mitchell.baker who are in the first batch of naturalization in the @officialjohnherdman era will soon enter the DPR hearing process next week," wrote Noor Korompot.
Both had previously joined Indonesia national team training camp ahead of the June 2026 FIFA Matchday but could not play because the citizenship process was incomplete. Luke Vickery is 20 years old and plays as a winger for Macarthur FC in Australia's A-League with seven goals and three assists recorded in the 2025/2026 season.
Noor Korompot also mentioned a second wave will follow with two players of descent from Germany and the Netherlands who have Indonesian lineage. Their identities have not been revealed.
