Madbouly inspects downtown cairo revival projects

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly conducted an inspection tour across Cairo on Saturday to review heritage restoration and urban redevelopment projects in historic districts.

Madbouly was accompanied by ministers including Manal Awad, Sherif Fathy and Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber. The tour covered restoration at Qasr al-Tahrir, where first-phase facade work reached 95 percent completion, and ongoing phases between Tahrir Square and Talaat Harb Square.

The prime minister launched the Art Street initiative in the Bourse Triangle and Sherifein Street. The programme features performances in painting, music, dance and puppetry to support emerging artists and aligns with the Bridges of Creativity strategy.

Officials also highlighted completed upgrades at Al-Alfi Street, now a pedestrian promenade, and plans to redesign the Opera Garage facade while converting its administrative building into a hotel. Madbouly noted strong government support for preserving Cairo's architectural identity alongside urban expansion.
