Malcolm in the Middle revival trailer highlights family chaos ahead of April premiere

Hulu and Disney+ released the first trailer for the 'Malcolm in the Middle' revival, 'Life’s Still Unfair', set to premiere all four episodes on April 10. Frankie Muniz returns as adult Malcolm, pulled back to his dysfunctional family—including parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek)—for their 40th wedding anniversary, with his daughter in tow.

Building on the announcement of the limited revival of the acclaimed 2000-2006 Fox sitcom—which won seven Primetime Emmys and earned 26 nominations—the trailer showcases grown-up child prodigy Malcolm (Muniz) declaring, “My life is fantastic now. All I had to do was stay away from my family!” after hiding for over a decade. Chaos erupts as he reunites with the Wilkersons at Hal and Lois' milestone celebration.

Returning cast includes Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), Bryan Cranston (Hal), Christopher Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese), and Emy Coligado. Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes over Dewey (originally Erik Per Sullivan), Anthony Timpano as Jamie, and newcomers Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Kiana Madeira as Malcolm's girlfriend Tristan, and Keeley Karsten as his daughter Leah.

Original creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer/executive producer, joined by exec producers Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann. Ken Kwapis directed all episodes and exec produces, with co-exec producers Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye. Production is by Disney Branded Television and 20th Television.

The event series aims to revive the show's signature chaotic family dynamics, now viewed through adulthood and new generations.
