Malmö FF defeated Djurgården 1–0 in an intense Allsvenskan top match at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm on Friday evening. Sead Haksabanovic scored the only goal in the 61st minute, but MFF captain Pontus Jansson suffered a knee injury late in the game. MFF technical chief Jaime Segura was also physically approached by a Djurgården supporter.
Malmö FF claimed an important away win against Djurgården 1–0 in the third round of Allsvenskan. Sead Haksabanovic headed in Otto Rosengren's corner in the 61st minute, the match's only goal. Djurgården dominated possession but MFF kept a clean sheet with solid defending and Robin Olsen's performance.
In overtime, Pontus Jansson collided with an opponent after a Djurgården cross and was carried off on a stretcher with a wrapped knee. He left the arena on crutches. Coach Miguel Angel Ramirez said: "He felt a tough hit to the knee."
Part of the MFF staff, including technical chief Jaime Segura, sat in the press stand. Segura experienced a minor verbal exchange with a Djurgården supporter who acted physically. "It was a small exchange of words and he got in the way, but nothing serious," a source commented.
Sweden national team coach Graham Potter and assistant Sebastian Larsson watched from the stands. Both teams aim for the SM title this year, unlike last season.
