Manuel Escribano cut the only ear of the afternoon with a great thrust to the fourth bull in the last Miura corrida of the April Fair in Seville. Román performed the best faena to the exceptional third bull, Lamparillo, but failed with the sword and went without a trophy. Pepe Moral handled the most complicated lot without reward in the full Maestranza.
Seville's April Fair closed on April 26 with a Miura corrida of great volume, totaling 4,360 kilos including the sobrero, averaging 623 kilos per bull. The animals showed serious build, with much bone and frame, in line with Zahariche's legend. Two bulls stood out for nobility: the third, Lamparillo, and the fourth.
Román, debuting with Miuras in Seville, tempered and toread flawlessly Lamparillo, running the hand along both horns with length and poise. The Maestranza surrendered to his faena, but the Valencian pinched and lost the sure ear. To the sixth, tough with low charges, he killed perfectly though without triumph chances, earning ovations both times.
Manuel Escribano shone with the fourth, of good depth, reading its heights lucidly and with muleta softness. After banderillas and a portagayola luck, he finished with a superb thrust earning the only ear and a lap. To his first, dull and surly, he drew estimable muleta passes without shine, ovationed.
Pepe Moral drew the worst lot: the second, returned invalid, and a 679-kilo sobrero, plus the fifth brave on sticks but dangerous on muleta. He dedicated to the crowd and cited on knees, but wind and Miuras' complexity prevented shine, ending silent.
