Maru Campos urges handover of Rocha Moya over US accusations

Chihuahua governor Maru Campos called on the federal government to hand over Rubén Rocha Moya to answer charges from the US Department of Justice over alleged organized crime ties.

Campos released a video on social media in which she stated that bilateral security tensions stem from protection given by the Morena government to officials flagged by US authorities.

The governor rejected any unilateral military intervention in Mexican territory. She argued that defending sovereignty requires fighting impunity and strengthening the rule of law.

Campos warned that refusing to prosecute the accused could harm relations with the United States and affect the treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada.
