Mexican exports totaled 389,723 million dollars between January and June 2026, a historical amount representing a 24.6 percent annual increase.
Non-automotive manufacturing exports grew 37.6 percent in the semester, their largest advance since records began. In contrast, automotive exports advanced only 1 percent.
Imports reached 379,866 million dollars, a 22 percent increase. The trade balance recorded a surplus of 9,857 million dollars, a record figure compared to 1,433 million in the same period of 2025.
Economists such as Gerónimo Ugarte of Valmex Casa de Bolsa and Rodolfo Ostolaza of Banamex attributed the dynamism to U.S. demand for technology products linked to artificial intelligence. Mario Correa of the IMEF noted that part of the rebound could be temporary due to trade uncertainty.
In June alone, exports totaled 72,551 million dollars, with a 34.4 percent annual increase.
