Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro announced on Tuesday (30/6) that she will leave the leadership of PL Mulher. The decision was communicated to party president Valdemar Costa Neto after a meeting in Brasília.
Michelle Bolsonaro stated in a note that the departure was decided after talking with her husband, former president Jair Bolsonaro. She said she intends to dedicate herself fully to caring for him and their daughter.
The decision comes after a family crisis with her stepson, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. In recent days, Michelle posted videos accusing Flávio of disrespecting and mistreating her during a phone call about party strategies in Ceará.
Valdemar Costa Neto confirmed the exit in a note and praised Michelle's work leading PL Mulher. He said the decision should be respected and downplayed internal party disagreements. The PL has not yet named a successor.
Michelle has not announced whether she will drop her pre-candidacy for the Senate in the Federal District. Allies reported she is demotivated about the possibility, but there is no official confirmation.
