Missy Elliott will be honored with the Amazon Music Visionary Icon Award at the Culture Creators Innovators & Leaders 10th annual awards brunch. The event takes place on June 26 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Missy Elliott is set to receive the award from Amazon Music and the Culture Creators Foundation. Up-and-coming R&B artist JayDon will deliver a special tribute performance during the brunch.
Culture Creators founder and CEO Joi Brown said Elliott is the definition of an icon whose impact continues to inspire artists, executives, creators, and fans across the globe. Phylicia Fant, global director of Black music and culture at Amazon Music, expressed pride in presenting the award alongside the foundation.
The brunch, hosted by Xmayo, will also serve as a fundraiser for the Culture Creators Foundation’s HBCU+ Scholarship Fund. Other honorees include Janelle James, Suzanne de Passe, Druski, Bethann Hardison, Jermaine Dupri, Andrew Hawkins, and Jason Lee.
