MLB awards and Capital One open to feature more than 70 stars

More than 70 current and former Major League Baseball players, along with AUSL stars, are gathering in Las Vegas for the third annual MLB Awards presented by MGM Rewards and the inaugural Capital One MLB Open golf tournament. The events highlight MLB Awards Week from November 12-14, with the awards show airing live on MLB Network.

The MLB Awards presented by MGM Rewards return for their third year at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Thursday, November 13, airing live from 9-11 p.m. Eastern on MLB Network. Mookie Betts, a four-time World Series champion and perennial All-Star, will co-host the show with comedian Roy Wood Jr. This marks Betts' first time hosting an awards ceremony, following his 2024 Sports Emmy nomination for Emerging On-Air Talent from his work with Bleacher Report, TBS, and FOX Sports.

Awards to be announced include the Hank Aaron Award winners, Comeback Players of the Year, Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman Relievers of the Year, Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter of the Year, and selections for the All-MLB First and Second Teams. Scheduled attendees include current and retired players such as Ronald Acuña Jr., Corbin Carroll, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Dexter Fowler, Adam Jones, Cal Raleigh, CC Sabathia, Gary Sheffield, Will Smith, and Juan Soto, along with select award finalists.

Complementing the awards is the inaugural Capital One MLB Open, a competitive golf tournament at the exclusive Shadow Creek course owned by MGM Resorts International. Held during MLB Awards Week from November 12-14, the event features 60 current and former Major Leaguers representing all 30 clubs, including Jimmy Rollins, Will Smith, John Smoltz, Justin Turner, and David Wright. Tournament coverage will air on TNT on Tuesday, November 18, with a behind-the-scenes program on MLB Network on November 20 at 9 p.m. ET, followed by extensive coverage on November 22 at 1 p.m. ET.

AUSL representatives attending the awards show include Erin Coffel, AUSL Hitter of the Year and MVP; Hannah Flippen, Defensive Player of the Year; Georgina Corrick, Pitcher of the Year; Ana Gold, Rookie of the Year; Jennie Finch, Player Advisor and MLB Ambassador; and Kim Ng, AUSL Commissioner. Many golf participants will also attend the awards show.
