Ohio mother charged after allegedly scalding son with hot water

Laneasha Walker, a 24-year-old Ohio mother, faces three counts of child endangerment after police accused her of pouring scalding hot water on her young son, causing second-degree burns over 10% of his body. The boy was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where staff found evidence of both old and new injuries. Walker allegedly tried to hide the burns with socks and diapers.

Police believe the most recent incident occurred on December 12, 2025. Walker's other three children told officers they saw their mother pour hot water on their brother. She initially refused medical treatment for the boy and lied about seeking care for his injuries, according to court documents obtained by WKRC, a local CBS affiliate. Hospital staff reported that Walker had no explanation for the burns when she brought her son in for treatment. WLWT reported that all four of Walker's children have been placed in the custody of family members following her arrest on Friday. She was arraigned on Saturday, March 28, with bond set at $75,000—or $25,000 per count—and remains in custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Walker is ordered to have no contact with her son if released and is next due in court on April 7.
