Olivia Wilde voiced regret over her 2022 remarks labeling Jordan Peterson a pseudo-intellectual hero to the incel community. The comments came during her appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast. She also shared confusion about Elon Musk's recent path.
The 42-year-old actress made the original remarks while promoting Don’t Worry Darling. On the podcast she said it might have been unfair to call Peterson a pseudo-intellectual but added concerns about his influence.
Wilde noted many non-misogynist people have adopted a sanitised version of ideas she links to deep misogyny. She tied this to broader worries about entitlement to power and its role in recent politics.
In the same interview Wilde described meeting Musk years ago before his political involvement. She said she resents him now and never predicted the direction he has taken.
She also praised former House co-star Hugh Laurie as smart and gracious during their time on the series from 2006 to 2012.
