Independent distributor Persimmon has acquired U.S. and international rights to the mystery film 'Death on the Brandywine.' The deal includes Canada, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India.
The film stars Kate Burton, Rena Sofer, Tuc Watkins, Jay Huguley, Walt Willey, Shanley Caswell and Guy Nardulli. Satomi Hofmann plays amateur investigator Professor Millie Park. Written and directed by Nick Wilkinson, the story centers on a senator found dead at his son’s campaign fundraiser. His daughter sets out to prove the death was not a suicide. 'Inspired by my admiration for the work of Agatha Christie, I wanted to blend intrigue with emotional depth, suspense with dark humor,' Wilkinson said. The film is set for a June 24 debut in New York with a limited theatrical run, followed by digital release on Apple, Amazon and Fandango. Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Segel of Storyboard Media negotiated the deal for the filmmakers, while Mackenzie Maguire represented Persimmon.
