Pilots' assembly causes delays at Aeroparque this Friday

The Association of Airline Pilots (APLA) will hold assemblies on Friday, October 24, from 6 to 10 a.m. at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, causing delays and cancellations in Aerolíneas Argentinas flights. The action follows failed paritary negotiations on salaries, promotions, and compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. Over 7,000 passengers will be affected.

The Association of Airline Pilots (APLA) confirmed a new assembly as a show of force for Friday, October 24, lasting four hours from 6 to 10 a.m. at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. This action completes the second part of the protest that began Thursday afternoon, October 23, just before the long weekend, due to the lack of responses from the Government and Aerolíneas Argentinas to demands on salaries, promotions, staffing, and compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.

The union criticized the airline's lack of foresight in its fleet, with eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft withdrawn due to technical failures, leading some flights to be diverted to other fleets or even competitors.

The measure will significantly disrupt flight schedules, with delays and cancellations extending over several days, affecting more than 7,000 passengers' travel plans. No contradictions are reported between sources, which agree on the timings and causes of the dispute.
